January 11, 2025 Hatfield Marine Science Center Nature Trail and South Jetty

We had 37 participants, mostly from around Newport and Lincoln City, with two from Eugene and one from California! We saw a lot of waterfowl, mostly Surf Scoters and cormorants. Volunteer Coordinator Heather Goble’s highlights were the Great Blue Heron that was only about 50 feet from us and the Common Goldeneye, as this was her first time seeing one!
